We are proud to announce that our Adult and Senior Division Career Coach, Ron Norwood, has been selected as a Fellow for the 2019 Detroit Humanity in Action Fellowship program, taking place from November 15th – 24th.
The 2019 Humanity in Action Detroit Fellowship program is a 10-day immersive Fellowship which will focus on community-centered efforts of urban redevelopment in the city of Detroit. The Fellowship will provide 20 civically-engaged participants of diverse disciplines the opportunity to work alongside Detroit organizations on ongoing efforts around relevant development and equity issues: workforce and real estate development, food justice, urban planning, public arts and culture and more. The Fellowship will include site visits, discussions, lectures and tours examining the past and future of urban redevelopment in Detroit with equity at its center.
10 Participants will be from Greece and they can expect the participants from Greece to develop and implement an activity in Greece that reflects the learning experience from the program. We envision that successful policies, projects, strategies, or models from Detroit can be fruitfully adapted for the Greek context.
