Matrix Off the Streets (OTS) Transitional Living Program (TLP) needs our help!
The Transitional Living Program is an 18-month program in Detroit for young people ages of 18 – 21, a highly vulnerable population that is often overlooked. These young adults come to us when they feel there is nobody else to look to and nowhere else to go. OTS provides safe, transitional housing locations for young adult men and young adult women along with case management supports to help them to transition to success, reaching their goals as productive and independent adults. Over the last three years we have successfully supported 32 young people to achieve their high school diplomas/GED; enter college/go to work; gain life skills, develop healthy relationships and make connections to their community to access resources.
Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, we were robbed.
Several electronics and appliances were stolen from our young ladies, and living furnishings (beds) were stolen from our house that supports the young ladies. Our programs run primarily on grants and we are very limited on what we can fund on our own. When something like this happens, it truly puts a burden on our program and affects our ability to serve our young people to our greatest capacities.
Visit our GoFundMe page to help support our efforts. http://www.gofundme.com/MatrixOTS
We really want to give the young ladies back the items that were stolen from them. Please donate to our cause and/or share our campaign with others that might be in a position to help us! No donation is too small!
If we exceed our goal, we will use extra funds to further support the program and maximize our resources to help our young people to reach their goals!
Please share this with your social circles and networks!
